PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This product shows positive and negative icons to represent addition problems with integers. The student is asked to write the problem shown (such as -4 + 5), circle the zero pairs, record how many zero pairs there are, cross out the zero pairs and answer 'what is left', and write the equation to represent the problem.

I created this product because I believe some students need the visual (+ and -) written for them for the first few times practicing this addition method.

The student is asked multiple questions about each problem so that the student has to think (and learn) more about each problem.

A key is provided. A blank template is included as well in case a teacher wants to put his/her own problems in.

This worksheet was created by Susan M. Walker.
