This is a set of 8 PowerPoint animations illustrating how to add and subtract negative and positive integers. The methods I used in this presentation mostly revolved around zero pairs. I especially liked the visual I made for subtracting a negative (the subtraction sign sends out lightning bolts to turn the negatives into positives)
These slides were originally made for inclusion in a school-wide slideshow that we have running all day long in all the classrooms. So in their current form, the animations are all timed and set to run automatically. If there is enough interest (and if I have enough time, heh) I can go back and including some clicks for the teacher to advance the animations.
The slides all run automatically so once you start the show you don't need to click anything. You _can_ click to skip to the next slide or to go back to a previous one, but none of the animations will respond to clicking.
If you have any questions/comments/suggestions, please let me know. I have lots of other automated slides like this for various topics (mostly 7th and 8th grade math) if anyone is interested.
