This set practices adding numbers between 10 and 18. The colorful pencils and apples help to make the activity fun and exciting to use.
There are 56 equations for your students to practice. There is also a picture of a ten frame with the matching dots under each addend.
Students will match the equation to the answer. They can do it in a small group setting, with a pocket chart, or in an independent center.
If an adult is working with a small group, you can pass out all of the equations while the adult holds the answers. Then the adult will show the answer and the students search for any equation that equals the answer that is being shown. Then the cards can be reversed. The adult can hold the equations and the students hold the answers. The adult will show the equation while the students search their piles for the answer.
When students use the ten frame to help them understand the equation, it helps them improve their numeracy so they can quickly recall the numbers.
