Slide #2 is the vocabulary slides, be sure to look at the PowerPoint notes because it contains the concepts that are to be stress with each slide. Slide #3 and 9 (summary slide) list the three steps used to add radicals. Slide #4 illustrates how to add a radical with variables step by step. It groups common radical together. Slide #5 and 6 illustrates how to add a radical without variables step by step. Slide #7 and 8 are exit questions to help generate discussion with students. The prerequisite for this PowerPoint is “Simplifying Radicals” ppt. Some of the vocabulary discussed is explained in that PowerPoint. I like to keep PowerPoints short so student don’t become bored and gives more time for guided practice in the classroom.
