This PowerPoint presentation takes students through a revision of the introduction and conclusion paragraphs of any essay. It guides them through sampling different rhetorical devices as well as rhetorical punctuation including:
This Power Point presentation provides definitions, includes revision exercises, and gives examples of each device. At the end of the revision activity, students select rhetorical devices to add to their introduction/ conclusion paragraphs and body paragraphs to give them more rhetorical power and to catch the reader's attention.

This is an excellent series of activities to use for Writing Workshop in high school English Language Arts. These are also great to use as warm-up/ bell ringer exercises at the beginning of class.
