This mini-bundle contains the following:

Adding & Subtracting Fractions Task Cards: This set of 24 task cards provides students with practice on various fractions concepts. Students will be asked to decompose fractions, add and subtract fractions with like denominators, add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators, draw models and number lines to explain their thinking, as well as solve word problems where they must add or subtract fractions. A recording sheet for students and an answer key for teachers is provided.

Adding & Subtracting Fractions PowerPoint: This product contains a PowerPoint and corresponding note taker and teaches students how to do the following:

- Add and subtract fractions with like denominators

- Add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators

- Convert mixed numbers to improper fractions

- Convert improper fractions to mixed numbers

- Decompose fractions

- Decompose mixed numbers

The PowerPoint not only provides student friendly notes but also practice for each concept.

The corresponding note taker goes along with the PowerPoint for an easy way for students to ensure they get all necessary notes down. Students can easily put these notes into an interactive notebook or spiral by cutting off the borders.

This is a great way to introduce the concepts and ensure you are teaching a lesson that is aligned to common core!

Mixed Numbers & Improper Fractions Task Cards & Reinforcement PowerPoint: This product contains a PowerPoint and set of 20 task cards. The PowerPoint provides students with an introduction to improper fractions and mixed numbers. It gives students definitions of each, explains how to convert improper fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions, and it gives students examples and practice. Some of the PowerPoint slides can also be printed and used as posters to display in your classroom.

This set of 20 task cards provides students with practice converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions. These can be used in a small group, as a center activity, as a whole class scoot game, and much more. A recording sheet for students and an answer key for teachers are also included.

This mini-bundle is aligned to the following Common Core standards.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.B.3

Understand a fraction a/b with a > 1 as a sum of fractions 1/b.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.B.3.A

Understand addition and subtraction of fractions as joining and separating parts referring to the same whole.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.B.3.B

Decompose a fraction into a sum of fractions with the same denominator in more than one way, recording each decomposition by an equation. Justify decompositions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model. Examples: 3/8 = 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 ; 3/8 = 1/8 + 2/8 ; 2 1/8 = 1 + 1 + 1/8 = 8/8 + 8/8 + 1/8.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.B.3.C

Add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators, e.g., by replacing each mixed number with an equivalent fraction, and/or by using properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.B.3.D

Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole and having like denominators, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem.

I hope you and your students find this resource beneficial and engaging! Please remember to leave feedback!
