You can use this lesson to teach addition and subtraction to 10. I like to give the students “teddy bear” crackers to use as manipulatives, but you can use any kind of small manipulatives you have.
This makes it more fun, and they have a healthy snack when they are finished.
This lesson usually takes 1-2 days to complete for Kindergarten.
We orally go through all the “Understand” part of the UPS-Check method that we use with our Problem of the Day.
There are work mats, recording booklets, and extra worksheets for practice. If you use the worksheets, you will want to add a few extra days to your lesson plans.
Please download the preview to see everything that is included.
