This is the first of my Mini-Skill Units. Be on the look out for more to come!
I am creating these units because I don't care for our math curriculum and it's easy to be overwhelmed by bulk math units. Now, you will be able to explicitly teach a skill, assess and move on to the next one! This Mini-Skill Unit is great if you don't have time to really think about teaching math, or if you have a long-term sub and want to make sure math skills are begin taught thoroughly.
I consider these lessons to be the bones of your unit, which means you'll need to add in your own worksheets and centers for students to practice (I hope to add these in later). I've added notes throughout the unit, to give you pointers and ideas on how to teach the skill, based on what has worked for my students.
-1 Smartboard file with all lessons
-Lessons are color coated and each slide is labeled.
-Each day's lesson includes Explanation slides (what I say to my students) and 10 practice slides to complete with students (I also give you ideas on how to practice these skills).
-Day 1: Adding 3 Numbers by Making a 10
-Day 2: Adding 3 Numbers using a Number Line
-Day 3: Associative Property of Addition (adding using parenthesis)
-Day 4: Review Skills (Mixed)
