In this activity, students will practice adding and subtracting fractions (with unlike denominators) while they have fun creating a colorful masterpiece that doubles as fabulous classroom decor! Students will color their simplified answers according to the color indicated on their paper to reveal a beautiful mandala pattern. The answers are all positive (no negative answers) and include some mixed numbers.
This activity is an excellent resource for sub plans, enrichment/reinforcement, early finishers, and extra practice with some fun. It is especially useful for end-of-year practice, spiral review, and motivated practice when students are exhausted from standardized testing or mentally "checked out" before a long break (hello summer!). Teachers and students alike enjoy motivating activities, so engage your students today with this fun coloring activity!
