Mix it up a little and have some fun reviewing your fractions unit with this “print and go” scavenger hunt. Play some fast tempo music or set the timer to get kids pumped up for the challenge. Post the Adding and Subtracting Fractions Scavenger Hunt task cards around the room or hide them to increase the challenge. Either way, students will have fun solving these problems as an end-of-unit review. This lesson was designed with sixth graders in mind; however, it can be used for fifth graders needing a challenge or seventh graders needing a review. Through this unit, students will practice the following skills: (1) estimating sums and differences of fractions (2) converting fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions and, (3) comparing and ordering fractions and decimals.
