If you’re new to “Write the Room” or "Scoot" activities get ready to fall in love! They allow students to practice a skill while incorporating movement. Kids love the opportunity to explore the room and work out of order. Plus, your principal will LOVE the engagement if he/she walks in for an observation!
For this time practice activity students find and solve the Valentine's Day Heart Cards to either add or subtract hours and minutes with and without regrouping!
Included in Download:
-16 COLOR Heart Cards for Write the Room
-16 B&W Heart Cards for Write the Room

-16 B&W Small Heart Task Cards for Sensory Tub
- Addition Recording Sheet Front and Back with Answer Key
- Subtraction Recording Sheet Front and Back with Answer Key
Write the Room Teacher Prep: Print out and separate Heart Cards. Post them around your room for students to explore. Each student will need one copy of either recording sheet, copied front and back. The Heart Cards can be left up in the room and used for both recording sheets. Woohoo for 2 lessons with 1 day
If using in a sensory tub, print and cut out smaller Heart Cards. I also laminate them. Mine went into a tub full of candy hearts and plastic hearts (they were labeled “table scatter” at the dollar store). My kiddos used clothes pins to pull out the Heart Cards.
Both sets of Heart Cards have the same info, just different sizes for different uses.
