Product Description

If you've used either of my Adding Two-Digit Numbers Using a Number Line or Subtracting Two-Digit Numbers Using a Number Line packets, your children will already be familiar with counting up or back on the number line to add or subtract tens and ones. Now they will use those strategies to solve equations with the unknown number in any position! (Operations and Algebraic Thinking, anyone?!)

This packet includes:

• FOUR "Teacher's Notes" lesson pages with complete demonstrations of addition and subtraction strategies to use in your lessons.
• TWO kinds of number lines: 0-100 with tick marks on the ones, and 0-100 with only the tens marked.
• SIX 2-sided student pages for each of the number lines, and you can use all 12 student pages with your class since the problems are different on all pages.

Please check out the preview to see what's included!

My children learned that there were lots of ways to tackle these addition and subtraction problems and arrive at the correct answer. This discovery gave them much more confidence when using the number lines and when working with 2-digit numbers in other ways.
