This activity comes in two sets of 16 cards, with the second set being more challenging than the first. Teachers may choose to give students either set based on each student’s ability, or use the two sets at different times as a scavenger hunt math center or activity.
To complete this activity, the teacher should cut the cards apart and tape them around the classroom. Each student must get a record sheet to track their answers. Students may begin at any card and they should place their answer in the corresponding box. Each card’s number is in the top left corner or the card. When students compute their answers, they must find the correct answer around the room on another card within the bubble being towed by either a truck or a train. Then, students compute the answer on the new card and continue in this fashion.
