The "ING" Game
This game teaches children that adding "ing" to words changes the word and the meaning.
You will need to do the following to prepare to play the game:
Copy page 2 (one per student)
Cut word cards (pages 3-8)
Cut demonstration signs (pages 9-12)
To demonstrate (use demonstration signs on pages 9-12), have a student pick one of the word signs and have another student hold the “ing” sign. Demonstrate adding the word to “ing” makes a new word. Repeat this for the other words.
Directions for Play:
Put the word cards (pages 3-8) inside of a bag. Allow students to take turns drawing cards and then follow the directions on the copied page (page 2).
Example: sing + ing = singing
