I did this activity towards the beginning of the year so I put different stickers/colors in the top right corner and each student had to find their partner based on who had their matching sticker. Then the students sat down and tried to solve their problems independently. On each task card, there are two different equations: one addition and one subtraction. However, the answers are the same. The students will know immediately if they have made an error. They are with partners to help critique work and look for mistakes.
