Not every child learns in the same manner. Offering several different strategies is
essential when differentiating and teaching core components, such as addition. This PowerPoint lesson offers seven different strategies for addition: counters, touch math, doubles, doubles +1, finger counting, number lines, and ten frames. This is great for a full week of introducing addition or for re-teaching as needed. Students are engaged in the lesson through the use of manipulatives, white boards and partner activities. Checks for understanding are embedded through-out the lesson. This is a very comprehensive unit that meets the common core in several different areas. The students enjoy all the activities and assessment is a breeze with the check for understanding questions.
******As a bonus I have included several pages of printable manipulatives, such as flash cards, number lines, ten frames, and counters! These can easily be laminated and used over and over again.******
