I originally created this center because every time I handed my kiddos cubes for math, they just wanted to stack them! I realized I could use this natural love of building to help reinforce addends of ten!
It quickly became so popular in my classroom that I left it out all year- talk about a lot of BANG for your BUCK! It's very simple to set up. Just laminate the center page and give students blocks or cubes to build. Kiddos build a tower using 10 blocks and then show how they made 10 by coloring on the center page. There are options for making 10 with 2 addends and making 10 with 3 addends.
There are matching printables for making 10 with 2 addends and making 10 with 3 addends. You could use these as an assessment or send them home for a fun family activity!
I even included some FREE labels for your center bins to help keep your materials organized! You can check out the preview and download them now!
