This is a non-traditional approach to number decomposition. Each Level 2 – Intermediate Addition Breakdown page in the set focuses on a specific number from 30 to 99. That means you have 70 pages’ worth of practice for your students!
Students are required to complete a series of ten addition statements for a specific number. They must fill in a set of blanks that represent either the Tens Digit or the Ones Digit of each addend. Some of the addition statements use two addends and some of the statements use three addends.
The addition statements are presented in a manner that allows multiple options for correct answers. The Addition Breakdown pages also help students build their higher order thinking skills and prepare for future algebra processes.
Each page in the Level 2 – Intermediate Addition Breakdown set addresses the following Number and Operations in Base Ten Common Core Standards: 3.NBT.A.2 and 4.NBT.B.4.
