Looking for a quick and easy way to assess student readiness in the area of addition?
4.NBT.4 has been broken into small skills, beginning with content from previous grade levels. Each skill has 3 versions of each GOAL check, giving students multiple chances to show mastery of each skill.
In my classroom, GOAL stands for Go Out And Learn. Students show their mastery of Common Core standards through short GOAL checks. These GOAL checks can be integrated into stations, small-group differentiated instruction and at-home practice.
Families enjoy having “straight-forward” concepts for at-home practice. Students enjoy working to master a standard by breaking it into small, manageable pieces.
