My students love "I Have, Who Has" games, and I love the active listening that this game promotes! Do your students need to develop number sense? Number sense is important because it encourages students to think flexibly and promotes confidence with numbers.
Students who lack a strong number sense have trouble developing the basic foundation needed for more complex math.
This resource, Finding the Sum - I Have, Who Has, is a fun hands on interactive game that will reinforce addition skills (up to 99) as well as develop stronger phrasing and fluency in reading. The competitive nature of this game will encourage the students to actively listen as well as learn valuable math skills.
This game has 40 cards in total for students, and an answer key.
Examples of Game Cards
*I have the first card. Who has the sum of 34 + 44?
*I have 78. Who has the sum of 26 + 13?
*I have 39. Who has the sum of 15 + 23?
*I have 37. Who has the sum of 61 + 24?
To play, print the file, and cut out the different cards. Pass one card out to each student. Students may get more than one card depending on the size of your class.
The student with the start card will begin by reading their card aloud. Your students will have to listen to the clues, and read their cards to see if their card is next. When they think their card is next, they need to read their clue for the next player. The activity is finished once all cards have been read.
