This is a set of 32 Cards that serve as a Match-Up or Memory Game!
This set includes Number Sentences with sums within 30.
These cards work great as a Memory Game by matching the number sentence and answer. These can be used as a Memory Game for learning stations, small-group, or partner work.
These cards work excellent as an interactive Match-Up game. Match-Up games are perfect to get kids up and moving and working together. Every time I use them, I set the timer for a minute or two, tell them to start, and have them find the person with their card as fast as they can. After they have found their partner, they line up together. As each student pair is made, the students line up after the pair that finished before them. Ways that I use them as a Match-Up Game are:
• Before a lesson – I use them as a review of a previous lesson. Especially, if it strongly ties into the new lesson. For example, I may use Antonym cards before my Synonym lesson.
• During a lesson – If I see boredom striking, it’s time to get up and move! I try to use cards that tie closely into our lesson.
• After a lesson – It’s a fun way to wrap-up a lesson and also check for understanding. My students are very oral during this game, which is a great thing! I always hear their conversations as they race around the room from person to person having a quick discussion to see if their cards match or not.
• Choosing Partners – What better way to choose random partners than a minute or two of fun, interactive, learning!

There are 32 cards included, so it can serve up to 32 students. With fewer students I have found it easier to keep the pairs together when I store them. It’s important to make sure that all the cards that are given out have a pair.
Odd number of students? No problem! There are many solutions. The solution I use is giving a student the “All Around” card or “Monitor” card, which are included in this purchase. For the most part, they are the same thing. The student with this card can monitor the game or go around and help students who are having trouble pairing.
