Providing visual cues is a great way to support your students' growth and fluency with addition. This activity offers students the opportunity to have fun while reinforcing important skills that they will need.
This packet includes 24 addition-based picture problems. I have provided both color and black and white copies of each page for your convenience. Colored copies can be printed on cardstock, cut apart, laminated, and placed in a Math Center or Station. Black and white copies can be printed on copy paper for each student and used in Math notebooks or journals. **You can print the colored version on colored cardstock to add a sparkle of excitement to the activity.**
I have included an Addition poster for you to display, as well as, a recording sheet and an answer key for your convenience.
Students that are in the early stages of developing this skill can simply "count how many altogether". Students that are developing, or that have a more concrete understanding of the concept, may write number sentences for each problem in a math journal or directly on the card. Having students use manipulatives to build the addition problems is also a great way to engage students and to enhance the learning experience.
I would love to hear of how this activity benefited your students. Please leave feedback to let me know how your students enjoyed interacting with this product. This is also a great way for you to earn TpT credits towards future purchases.
