Students construct a pocket book then solve each of the eight included addition problems. Students will sort the problems into the correct pocket depending on whether they needed to regroup to solve the problem. (There are four of each type.) Lastly, have students describe how they know when to regroup on the back of the book.
To construct the pocket book:
Fold along the solid black line.
Glue the ends of the folded paper together and add a strip of glue
in the center to make two separate pockets.
