Addition Number Talk Cards
-Works well in small group math centers or whole group at calendar time
-You can easily pull these up on the smart board as well.
-Display example card on special part on calendar wall or math bulletin board
-order from least to greatest
-create a portfolio book
-Display one child’s work each time you do this and use as a teaching example
-categorize blue cards as even and red as odd numerals
-explore quantities from the cards for each even and odd
-find patterns in doubling with even numerals
Use intervention pages in conjunction with the portfolio cover or folder cover page to keep a file of students’ work.
Doggie Gets A Bone Graphic
Use the data graph for student motivation. When you feel they have mastered an area of addition, allow them to color in the bones. This piece can also go into their portfolio.
