This is a fun dice activity to help students solve addition equations for two or three addends! Students can work independently or in pairs. Students throw two or three dice and record their numbers in the first squares. Next, they write the operation symbols in the circles. Finally, they solve mentally or by counting the dots on the dice, and write the answer in the last box. 6 worksheets are included: Three versions of two-digit equation worksheets and three versions of three-digit equation worksheets (one with a sample equation, one with just the operation symbols in a sample equation, and one with all spaces empty). The two-digit addition pages have equations on both sides, so they can be cut down the center to save on paper!

Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings, sounds (e.g., claps), acting out situations, verbal explanations, expressions, or equations.
