Description
In this pack, there are four games, or centers, to reinforce addition strategies.
1. “Double It!”
Students use a die and counters to play
2. “Near Doubles.”
Using unifix cubes to build the doubles and doubles+1.
3. “Flip Flop Adding,” also known as reverse, or turn-around.
This is played like a game of concentration, or you can use the cards as a whole group activity.
4. “Making Ten" Using ten frames to make ten when adding
There is a culminating activity that you could use as an informal assessment, “Sum it up,” to see if your students understand the different strategies.
