Description
These Addition Strategies Posters are perfect to display in your class to support children's understanding of the addition strategies they and their peers are using during your Number Talks. These Math Strategy Posters focus on addition in the 100s, so will be suitable for older classes. In my store you will also find Addition Strategy Posters that are suitable for children working with smaller numbers (within 10 and within 100). There are free Subtraction strategy posters as well - all perfect for supporting children visually during Number Talks.
The strategy posters in this resource illustrate the main mental math addition strategies children are likely to use when you are doing Number Talks with them. I've given each strategy a memorable name (explained in the file) with a visual. These names help classes remember and use the different strategies when they solve addition problems mentally.
I've made 2 other very similar sets of posters: one set illustrates the strategies with numbers within 20, and the other set illustrates the strategies using addends within 100 (rather than within 1000, as this set does). All of these math strategy posters are free.
