Critical thinking is important amongst our youngsters and so are everyday math skills! Our students' brains are trained that when they see certain math vocabulary words they automatically have to perform a specific strategy. Challenging word problems, aligned with the core curriculum standards, help students master math word problems. In this download, you wil recieve 14 critical thinking math word problem task cards that require addition and subtraction of up to 4 digits with regrouping to solve. Some problems are one step, while others are multi-step. Instructions of how these are implemented into my classroom as a paired math station rotation and centers are also included as well as a word problem map and answer key.
