Product Description
Addition, subtraction and equality with teen numbers are the focus of these four robot themed math stations. This will be a hit if you are looking for hands-on and engaging math activities for your kiddos! Each of these activities also comes with a recording form to keep your teacher mind at ease knowing that your students are on task :)

⚙ Equal/Not Equal – This activity allows students to practice adding sums to 20 while also firming their understanding of equality by determining if the two expression are equal or not equal in order to fill in the appropriate symbol and complete the equation. This station is not only great for students understanding equality but also for students who are practicing strategies for addition. They will need to solve A LOT of addition problems in order to complete the station.

⚙ Spinning Addition & Subtraction – This activity is perfect for students who have but need to practice strategies for addition and subtraction. So often, my students learn to do a certain process to complete a station. This type of activity keep students on their toes as they need to choose which strategy to use in order to be successful.

⚙ Robot Subtraction– Students use a number line to solve subtraction problems. My students solve each problem twice. First, they use a small marker (I have some cute little robot erasers from Target) to mark the starting number and move backwards on the number line to subtract. Next, they count backwards using their fingers to confirm their answer. You could swap the order on these two processes based on how comfortable your students are counting backwards.

⚙ Robot Ten Frames - Students order robot cards from 10 to 20. After ordering cards, students “fill in the robot’s gears” with the matching ten frame. Another variation of this game is to ask the students to lay the robots out in order from 20 backwards to 10. You might be surprised how difficult this activity actually it! My students have not discovered that they can simply count up from 10 from right to left and really work through counting from 20 back to 10!
