Each of the eight apple-related word problems sheets invites students to solve the problem using (1) a number line, (2) a drawing, (3) tally marks, and (4) a ten frame and write an addition sentence.
There are two variations for each of the word problem sheets. One sheet has space for writing the answer with tally marks and one does not.
This packet also includes description on how to model / develop student usage of the above problem solving tools. The sheets have served as a great base for visualizing word problems as well as discussing how students used the tools to solve the problems.
Students can choose which strategy they use or they can use all four strategies for an extra challenge.
