I made this packet to help my kids take their word (story) problems to a whole new level and to challenge their thinking. This packet is made up of 23 different addition problems that will flip your students thinking while simultaneously working on multiple standards on the same page.
On each page, you will expect your students to work on the following standards:
~ An Addition Problem with unknown numbers
~ Writing Numbers
~ Number Sentences
~ Part Part Whole Strategies
~ Ten Frames
~ Addition on Number Lines
What does a page in this packet look like? Each page has a word problem. The word problems have the sum included in it and two options of what can be a part of that sum. Your students will need to figure out how many they can have of each item in order to make up that sum (for example... an example of a word problem could be: Rufus loves to have dog bones in his jar. He has 10 bones in the jar. Some are shaped like a fire hydrant and some are shaped like a ball. How many of each kind of bone does Rufus have in his jar?).
You students will be challenged by 23 different problems with sums that range from 6 to 20. Each page comes in color and in black and white.
