My students LOVE finding hidden these hidden math cards around the round.
This includes 12 addition cards and 12 subtraction cards with sums up to 20. There is a recording sheet and answer key for both the addition and subtraction activity.
These cards focus on the Counting On and Counting Back Strategy.
Use this strategy when adding or subtracting equations that have the numbers 1,2,3.
Example) 2+5 = say the highest number and count on the number of times of the smallest number. So say, 5...and count on two times..6.7. (the last number you say is the sum!)
Print off the addition and subtraction cards. Laminate for durability. Sticky tack (blue tack) the addition or subtraction math equations to the wall, back of chairs, classroom doors, front of desks, cupboard doors, on top of book covers etc. You can hide the cards anywhere for students to find!
Give each student a copy of "Find The Sum" worksheet to record the equations and sums in the correct boxes.
