Kids love this fast-paced, engaging game. Played alone or in groups of 2, 3, or 4, children use dice to make sums to 12, or to subtract from 12. The packet includes game strips for both adding and subtracting. Run, laminate, and supply dry erase markers to children to color (highlight) sums (or differences) on his or her game strip. First player with all numbers highlighted wins. When done, erase the highlights and play again. Use dice with either dots or numbers, depending upon the level of the players. Make it more challenging by asking players to write the equations that represent their roll of the dice. When subtracting, children learn to strategize by deciding to use one die or two at each turn. Because you'll laminate the game strips, they can be used over and over! Created by Cindy Middendorf, national speaker well known for hands-on learning activities.
