Are you looking for a fun way for your students to practice writing addition and subtraction number sentences? If you are teaching about fact families within addition and subtraction, this activity is simple to learn, and fun to practice.
There are 9 sets of cards included (one doubles fact, one with zero, and the rest are fact families 1-10). Simply print the cards on cardstock, cut, and sort into envelopes. Students will use the 3 number cards as well as the + - and = cards to create a number sentence. If you put the answer pages into sheet protectors, you have a great center activity that you can reuse and rotate through your groups and still save paper.
Each answer page has a simple visual for students (for example, 3 white circles and 4 black circles to represent the 3, 4, 7 fact family). The pages are in black and white in order to save you ink/printing costs.
If you prefer to provide less support for some of your students, there is also an empty number bond page. Students can fill in the number bond with any of the card sets available. And finally, if you prefer having a worksheet that students can bring home and skip the sheet protectors, I have included a traditional recording page as well.
