Here are 5 engaging ways for students to practice Addition and Subtraction Fact Families!
The teacher can model how to use each task. The 5 tasks can be used for differentiation in whole math, guided math groups, and in centers.
Task 1: Match the 2 cards that have matching families on them. I give everyone in the room a card. They must walk around and locate another person that has the matching fact family equations that they need.
Task 2: This task works well at a math center. There are 4 mini tiles that are needed to complete one fact family.
Task 3: This task works well at a math center. Build a fact family neighborhood and find the cloud that has all 3 numbers needed to create the fact family.
Task 4: The students must use the numbers inside the clouds to create the equations needed for the fact family.
Task 5: Students create their own fact family using the numbers they put in the clouds.
I hope you and your students enjoy learning and growing with this math product!
