Description

These 40 printable addition and subtraction games will support your students in learning their addition and subtraction facts. Addition and subtraction fluency practice is painless when your students are playing games that are fun and engaging! Each of the 40 games supports fact fluency for sums to 20.

Included you will find:

  • 10 math games to be played with a paperclip (together with your pencil, it forms a spinner!) *See 5 of these games free, linked above!*
  • 10 math games to be played with dice
  • 10 math games to be played with playing cards or numeral cards
  • 10 math games to be played with dominoes

Plus, as a special addition to this bundle, I have included a Fluency Strategy & Assessment Guide. This 30+ page guide includes all of the information you need to understand how your students gain fact fluency and the most direct path you can take to help your students become fluent. The guide also includes assessments and instructions for how to assess in a way that will allow you to make the smartest decisions on how to instruct even your trickiest math students.

The addition and subtraction games mirror one another following the same rules and game play but adjusting for addition or subtraction.

For each game you will need to provide your students with the one main tool (dice, paperclip, cards or dominoes) and they will be able to play on the single printable sheet. There is no cutting, counting or assembling to be done on your part- just print and go!

If TRULY want these games to be a "set it and forget it" affair, print and laminate each game board and put them in a math center with cards, dice, dominoes and paperclips. You may want to print addition games on one color and subtraction games on another. Your students can play again and again using dry erase markers.

And remember, follow my store so you will be updated when new resources are added! I list many products on sale for the first 24 hours!

Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
