Thank you for purchasing this item! I hope you enjoy it!
In this set, there is an addition matching game AND a subtraction matching game. They can be played separately OR mixed together, depending on your students’ needs/abilities. I have also included 2 versions of the 2 games games. In the first version, students are matching pictures to an equation that is MISSING the sum/difference. In the other version, students are matching pictures to an equation that INCLUDES the sum/difference. (Check the product preview for the two examples of this if you’re confused!) Again, this is to give you options and allow for differentiation among your students. ☺
1. Print the games and versions you need on white cardstock/construction paper.
2. Laminate pages for durability.
3. Cut out the cards.
Regardless of the version you choose, all games are played the same way. Students (2-4 works best!) are playing together, so the first task is to flip all cards face-down on the table, spreading them out at the same time. The first player picks TWO cards at the same time. If the equation MATCHES the pictorial representation, s/he keeps it! The player then gets to pick TWO more cards to see if they match. If cards chosen do NOT match, they are returned to the table. Play resumes to the next player, and all steps are repeated until ALL cards have been matched.
There are many ways to play this game with its different versions and skills covered, so have fun experimenting! ☺
