This is my first Crack the QR Code...Math Task Cards
This covers the standards 4.NBT.4 and 4.OA.3
This is a fun way to get your students engaged in practicing their addition and subtraction skills, and to look at these 2 operations in different ways that involves algebraic processes. It also utilizes technology and students can scan QR codes to find if their answers are correct along with answering a riddle.
Purpose: These cards will help reinforce addition and subtraction skills while looking at problems in 3 different ways. Students are solving different unknowns such as 3 + 2 = ___, 3 + ___ = 5, and ____ + 2 = 5 and looking for the answer to a riddle. The numbers involved in these problems are multi-digit numbers.
It includes the following material…
-20 task cards involving addition and subtraction of multi-digit numbers. (These task cards might be a challenge for 3rd, 4th, and a great review and practice for 5th, and 6th grade)
-Crack the Code Clue Sheet (student answer sheet with riddle)
-Crack the Code Answer Sheet (This would be useful if you don’t have technology that reads QR codes.)
-Crack the Code Work Space for all 20 problems
-This could be used as a math center, small group activity, or practice for your guided math groups.
My students loved this and I hope yours do as well!
