Learn to use the “Tap ‘n Count” spots as a scaffold for students to use when practicing early Addition and Subtraction skills. A full explanation on how to practice the tapping “places”, a large number chart, and Counting backwards sheets (pre-Subtraction practice) are included. These worksheets include a range of levels and are appropriate for most 1st graders, high achieving Kindergartners, or Special Education students. This method is highly supportive to students learning the early stages of adding and subtracting.

Some Common Core Connections include:
*Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
*Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
*Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
*Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract
