I created these task cards for my students to practice basic addition and subtraction word problems (without regrouping). These are great practice no matter how you choose to use task cards in your classroom!
I use a lot of math models in my classroom, so if you have used them, you are going to love this set of task cards! There is one answer sheet that is made to be used with the Part-Part-Whole math model. If you do not use math models, there is one answer sheet that is for standard answers. You can choose whatever works best for your classroom and teaching style.
You may notice that the first 12 cards are more simple problems using lower numbers. This is designed to help you differentiate with your lower students. I normally give my lower group these cards to start out with. That way they can use manipulatives or tallies to build the concrete basics. Then as they progress, I will present them with the later cards. For my average or higher kids, I simply let them complete the whole set because cards 13-32 will be more on their level.
