Students use illustrations and clue words from story problems to decide if they are looking for a part or a whole and if they should add or subtract. Students write down clue words that they find in the word problem which tell them to add or subtract. Words included are: in all, altogether, part, and how many more. Practice is given for students to write the number sentence and solve the math problem.
