Includes addition and subtraction cards in color and black and white for practicing facts within 10.
Because student and teacher needs differ, there are various ways to print the cards. For instance, when printing the black-and-white addition cards . . .
1) Pages 3 and 5 can be printed back-to-back and will result in a black-and-white apple picture on both sides and pages 6 and 8 can be printed back-to-back so there will be a worm on both sides.
(2) Pages 4 and 5 can be printed back-to-back, and the apple will be printed only on the backs and pages 7 and 8 can be printed so the worm is only on the backs.
(3) The cards can be printed on two different colored paper--print only page 3 (the problems) and page 6 (answers) with no pictures on the backs--my favorite way for our classroom since it makes printing easy and helps students quickly sort the cards, too.
If you prefer color pictures, there are sets for both addition and subtraction that contain the same problems as the black-and-white. They can also be printed in various configurations to meet your individual preferences or needs.
USING THE CARDS
Students can play a concentration-type game and choose one apple and one worm to make a match or a student can practice independently by separating the cards, laying either the worms or the apples on a flat surface in an array, and matching the cards from the other set. There are answer keys for independent checking included.
Finally, I have included a BUMP game that can be used with the addition and subtraction cards. Bump is one of our classroom favorites and allows students to repeatedly practice math facts in a fun way. Once the game pieces are printed and the cards cut apart, you need only add some bingo chips or other markers and the game is ready to play.
