### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Background:
When students are focused on rigorous problem solving and complex computation skills, I have found that many of the students make basic computation errors that lead to incorrect solutions. To help students improve in this area, I created a series of leveled computation practice activities. This resource contains leveled addition practice, beginning with addition of 4-digit numbers and moving up to addition of 7- digit numbers. It also contains a record sheet, answer keys, and incentive charts for the addition practice activities.

Preparing to use these resources:
Make one copy of the practice packet for each student, including the record sheet and practice sets 4A through 7D. You will notice that the page after the record sheet is blank. This is intentional. When copied back-to-back, this leaves the back of the record
sheet blank, and puts each level on the front and back of a single piece of paper.

Using the resources with students:
Have students attempt the problems in set 4A. If all three are perfect, they skip over 4B, 4C, and 4D, and move on to 5A. If they make one or more errors in set 4A, they should correct them, then try the problems in set 4B. The space on the record sheet is
available to indicate facts they should practice. If the three problems in 4B are perfect, students move on to 5A. If there are errors, they correct them and move on to 4C. This really motivates students to work carefully and accurately.

Incentive Charts:
These are an optional resource to use if desired. When a student tests out of a level by solving three problems correctly, he/she can earn a sticker or stamp on the chart. I have included both colorful incentive charts and black-and-white incentive charts, so
that you can copy or print whichever you prefer. I have found that my fifth graders love getting the positive feedback, and I have them keep the chart right with their packet, so it is ready when they earn a stamp or sticker.
