When learning to add, dice games are a great way to practice this skill. This year long bundle includes a game board for every month of the year and a few extras. (15 games total) You will find color and black and white versions for your printing preferences.
Here's How to Play:
Each monthly icon/symbol has a number under it, from 2-12. The only missing number is 7, the most common roll on the dice. Under 7 you will find a box for tally marks. Copy a page for every two children. Cut the page down the middle so each student has their own board. A pair of dice is needed for the partners to share. Each student takes turns rolling the dice. Students can cross off the number of each die, or the sum of the dice can be crossed off as well. If the student rolls a combination equal to 7, a tally mark is made in the box under 7. The goal is to cross off each number before accumulating 7 tally marks in the box! So in this case, 7 is not LUCKY!
So much fun and learning combined. Your students will love this activity. It is a great one to use in small math groups, whole group, with parent volunteers.
