Addition with Regrouping Tiered Math Activity

Students often need additional practice on a topic and tiering is a great way to give students additional practice at their own differentiated level. This packet uses the "Prove it, Solve it, Fix it" strategy. It includes a quiz that you can use to assess where your students are with adding with regrouping. It also includes three leveled sheets for practicing this skill.

The prove it sheet is for your low level students. This sheet gives them the answers, taking the pressure off of the answer and putting an emphasis on the process.

The solve it sheet is for your mid level students. This sheet asks them to explain their thinking, encouraging them to practice and reflect.

The fix it sheet is for your high level students. This sheet asks them to figure out and explain common errors made with this skill. This pushes them to expand their thinking about this skill.

All of these sheets focus on the topic of addition with regrouping.

This meets Common Core Math Standards: 2.NBT.B.6, 2.NBT.B.7, 3.NBT.A.2 and 4.NBT.B.4. It also meets the UK National Curriculum Maths Programme standards for Year 4 and Year 5.
