It’s hard to believe it is time to think about spring and flying kites. I hope your children enjoy building these kites while practicing and reviewing addition with some colorful kites as well as finding 100 more and 100 less of each sum.
This cut, paste and color activity has been created to expand on their knowledge of the addition with regrouping. Your students will be asked to find matching kite parts involving addition problems in expanded form, values of their sums and standard forms of the sums.
Each part of the kite will be built by different forms of an addition problem: the expanded form of the addition problem, the sums of the expanded form, the addition problem in standard form. The students will have to find the sum of the problem to put the finishing touches on the kite. Your student will also need to add 100 more and 100 less to the kite by adding these to the tail of their kites. Your student can add their own decorations to their kites.
Thanks again and hope everyone enjoys their spring – not only are the flowers
blooming, but our students are blooming into gardens of their own!
