The first 8 cards have a woodland animal theme, and are basic addition and subtraction one and two step problems. The next 8 pet themed cards are harder with beginning multiplication (they can be solved with repeated addition) and division with one and two step problems. I used these with third and fourth grade students who are struggling with the mechanics of solving word problems and needed easier numbers to work with while determining the steps and operations to use. The cards can be used in small group or by individual students. A recording sheet and answer sheet are included.
