Blog Post: Community Themed Classroom PLUS a Surprise!
Complete Community Classroom Decor Bundle
After 10 years of teaching, majority of my students continue to come to school without knowing their addresses and phone numbers. So in an attempt to change that since I believe it's so important for them to know, I made this set!
You will find Address Labels where I will write their addresses in, laminate them and either tape them to their desks or inside a folder for them to practice tracing or writing in a notebook or on paper. Each label has a house scene to resemble their community. There are 32 Address Labels with 15 different scenes repeated twice.
You will also find Phones where I will do the same by writing in their phone numbers, laminating them, and taping them to their desks or folders to practice. With the phone, they can practice dialing their numbers on the phone itself.
Along with these, you will find an Address and Phone Number Quiz that I will be giving each Monday after the first week until they know them.
Once they pass the quiz, they earn their Driver's Licenses! I have made these with a similar format to my state's licenses (Indiana!). :) There are 2 license templates: 1 called School Student License and 1 Indiana Student License (bonus for Indiana teachers!:).
When they earn their Driver's Licenses, they earn the privilege of being able to "drive" anywhere they'd like in the room to eat their breakfasts and work on morning work each morning. Of course, there are SOOO many ideas you can use with these. This is just one idea. :)
I will also laminate their licenses after they fill them in, and I will make them into lanyards by hole punching them and tying yarn or string to them. Then they can wear them when they get in the room. :)
I hope you and your students love these and that they help with knowing their addresses and phone numbers better!!
Don't forget to FOLLOW ME and leave FEEDBACK!! I am so excited to hear how you and your students like these and use these!! You can also earn TPT Credits to use toward future purchases so double bonus!!
