Teaching students to use adjectives in their writing can be difficult without good resources. I spent a few days googling and searching in many forums for what I wanted: a flipbook with good, upper-level adjectives without any extra cutesy additions. I couldn't find what I wanted, so I made it!
This is a resource I used with my AIS intervention students to get them excited about writing. This has also been used in a whole class setting to teach adjectives and serve as a tool for students during Writer's Workshop and independent work. While I did make this initially for 5th grade students, this flipbook can be used anywhere from Grades 4 and up.
This is a PDF format with 10 pages. Print pages 3-10 for just the flipbook pages. Print one-sided. Pages are based on a regular 8.5x11 paper size; the final product will be this size. I have students then keep this golden resource in their ELA or Writing folders. You can scale down to 85 in order to fit in a composition notebook too!
I look forward to hearing your feedback on this product. My students have loved using flipbooks this year and I hope yours will too!
