This packet is loaded with a variety of activities and things to use with your class for them to have a firm understanding of adjectives and adverbs. I have included a small anchor chart in color and in black and white. Use the colored one in your classroom and the black and white ones can be sent home with students as a reminder of what they are learning in school. There is also a page of bookmarkers for students to color and make as a craft during your study on adjectives and adverbs.
The whole group activity will be great to get the unit started. Then there is a small group activity to use with just a few kiddos at a time. This activity will give you a chance to make informal assessments and observations on each child.
I have also included 2 sort and record centers where students will sort word cards into adjectives and adverbs and record their answers on a student answer sheet. Each set has 20 cards. Answer key included.
There are also 2 sets of task cards where students will read sentences and tell if the underlined word is an adjective or adverb. There is a student answer sheet and answer key for each set of task cards.
A home activity is part of this packet. Get parents involved in helping their children identify adjectives and adverbs in magazines or newspapers.
The packet is rounded out with two worksheets to use as practice, homework or assessment. Answer keys are included.
